Two fishermen drowned in Lake Victoria on Tuesday night after their motor boat caught fire at Nyandiwa beach, Suba South sub-county.
Joseph Aduda, 30, and 24-year-old Kevin Odera were with two colleagues who survived the ordeal.
The men from Masara beach in Migori county were on their way to Nyandiwa for a fishing expedition.
Nyandiwa beach management unit chairman Peter Otieno said a charcoal stove the fishers were using to prepare a meal caused the fire.
