The wife to former Foreign Affairs minister Robert Ouko is dead.
Christabel Ouko (pictured) passed on last evening following a tragic road accident on Koru-Kericho road. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Siloam Hospital in Kericho.
She was returning home after attending Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o swearing in ceremony. Her brother in law Maurice Seda told the People Daily that it was a major loss to their family as well as a blow to the former minister’s murder probe.
“We received the sad news of her demise and it so heartbreaking because she was the pillar of our late brothers family,” he said adding that she was a key witness in the murder.
The 76 -year-old mother of seven, who has been leading a quiet life in the village, has been demanding justice and the truth about her husband’s killer(s).
The last time she testified was on the Erick Gor Sungu led Commission of Inquiry in 2004 where she declined to divulge details she knew about her husband’s murder.
“You know very well that those who did it are still alive and I would not like to talk about it for obvious reasons,” she said.
