Turn boy dies in Sachangwan road accident

A turn boy was today ran over by a truck he was traveling in after the driver lost control at Sachangwan black spot along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

The ill feted truck was ferrying Cacao beans from Kampala to Mombasa before the accident occurred at around 8.00am.

According to the driver who declined to establish self and escaped with minor injuries said his turn-boy panicked when the brakes failed.

“He panicked and decided to jump-off the truck on motion but unfortunately he was ran over,” the driver said.

Confirming the incident, Rongai police boss Japheth Kioko said the turn boy died on the spot.

“The 8:00 am incident happened when the truck lost control after brakes failed,” police boss said.

Salgaa, located along the 12-kilometre stretch between Kibunja and Salgaa, is a notorious black spot which has claimed hundreds of lives over the years.

The body of the deceased was taken to Nakuru County mortuary.
